275kVA Back-up Generator Installation
The Generator Company were asked to carry out a back-up generator installation and commission it for the stadium flood lights of a Premier League football club based in Hertfordshire. With recent promotion to the Premier League and directive from the Football Association, the football club needed back-up power in the event of a power cut during a televised game.
The customer, an Audio Solutions Company based in Kent, who provide various services to the football club contacted The Generator Company after seeing one of our fleet of service vehicles out on the road.
It is a requirement of the Football Association for all premier league stadiums to have floodlights to allow games to be scheduled outside daylight hours. To comply with Premier League guidelines, the club were asked to install a standby generator to support their LED floodlight upgrade.
On completion of a site inspection, it was discussed that the best way forward would be to provide and carry out a 275kVA Cummins C275D5 back-up generator installation together with a new ATS panel and lighting control board.
Our scope of works to include a full electrical back-up generator installation and commissioning using the site lighting.
On commencement of the project, we delivered and offloaded the equipment with the use of our own hiab and positioned the generator on a prepared base. On completion the ATS panel and a lighting board were installed followed by connections of all cable from the generator to the ATS and lighting board.
On conclusion of the back-up generator installation works, the generator set and associated equipment were commissioned using the site lighting to ensure all systems performed as required in a mains failure situation.
